I am the, the backdoor man
I am, the backdoor man
Well, the men don't know
But the little girls they understand

When ev'rybody is-a tryin' to sleep
I'm-a somewhere makin' my midnight creep
An ev'ry mo'nin when the rooster crows
He's tellin' me that it's the time to go

I am, the backdo' man
I am, the backdo' man
Well, the men don't know
But the little girls they understand

Well, they took me to the doctor, shot full of holes
The nurse she cried, 'Save his soul!'
I was 'cussed of murder in first degree
The judge wife cried, 'Let the man go free!'

I am, the backdo' man
I am, the backdo' man
Well, the men don't know
But the little girls they understand, mmm

I was accussed a-murder in the first degree
The judge wife cried, 'Let the man go free!'
The cop's wife cried, 'Don't take him down
I'd-a rather be in six feet of ground!'

I am, the backdo' man
I am, the backdo' man
Well, the men don't know
But the little girls they understand

quando me perguntam quem foi o maior escritor/cantor de azuis,
com os seus quase dois metros de altura e cento e trinta quilos,
a resposta só pode ser uma, william james dixon...

man, slow down.
we'll get there, take your time,
don’t walk so fast
stay on the road
i don't blame people
saying "walking the blues"
'cause man, this is it.
now i think i'll relax,
that's the way to relax.
now watch this,
boy, is it hot today!
all you gotta do is put one foot
in front of the other and keep on walking,
walking the blues.
that's what i call glidin’ low
I hope my old lady is home,
when i get there. all this walking,
i don't mean my mother-in-law, i mean my wife,
my mother-in-law she's always there.
so we'll just keep on walking anyway.

willie dixon é um ícone dos azuis: foi o maior, em tamanho e a tocar contrabaixo.
não há ninguém na história do rock (doors, stones, zeppelin) que não tenha uma cover dele.
descobri-o quando era teenager. ainda não me cansei.

You know you shook me
You shook me all night long
(You wouldn't turn me loose)
Whoa, you shook me, pretty mama
You shook me all night long
(Couldn't rest a bit)
Whoa, you just crept on me, shakin' me, baby
Whoa-oh, you done messed up my happy home

You know, ya move me, baby
Just like a hurricane
(Boy, and that's a strong wind)
Whoa, you move me, pretty mama
You know, you move me
Just like a hurricane
(Didn't have a chance)
Ooh, you move me, pretty mama
Just like a earthquake can move the land
(Boy, she shook me all over)

Sometimes I wonder-ooo
What's gonna happen
To my po' wife and child?
Lord, sometimes I wonder-ooo
What's gonna happen
To my po' wife and child?
Now baby, you done made me love you-ooo
Lord, I just can't be satisfied

You know ya shook me
You shook me all night long
You know you shook me, mama
(Wouldn't even stop)
You shook me all night long
You know you kept on shakin' me, darlin'
Lord, you done messed up my happy home.
