i'm a spy in the house of love
i know the dream that you're dreamin' of
i know the word that you long to hear
i know your deepest secret fear
i'm a spy in the house of love
i know the dream that you're dreamin' of
i know the word that you long to hear
i know your deepest secret fear
i know everything
everything you do
everywhere you go
everyone you know

i'm a spy in the house of love
i know the dream that you're dreamin' of
i know the word that you long to hear
i know your deepest secret fear
i know your deepest secret fear
i know your deepest secret fear
i'm a spy

My mama done tol' me when I was in pigtails

My mama done tol' me, "Hon,

A man's gonna sweet talk and give ya the big eye

But when the sweet talkin's done
A man is a two-face

A worrisome thing who'll leave ya to sing

The blues in the night"

Now the rain's a-fallin'

Hear the train's a callin', whooee

My mama done tol' me

Hear that lonesome whistle

Blowin' 'cross the trestle, whooee!
My mama done tol' me, a-whooee-ah-whooee

Ol' clickety-clack's a-echoin'

Back th' blues in the night

The evenin' breeze'll start the trees to cryin'

And the moon'll hide it's light

When you get the blues in the night
Take my word, the mockingbird'll sing

The saddest kind o' song

He knows things are wrong

And he's right

From Natchez to Mobile, from Memphis to St. Joe

Wherever the four winds blow

I been to some big towns an' heard me some big talk

But there is one thing I know
That a man's a two-face

A worrisome thing who'll leave ya to sing

The blues in the night

I went down to St. James infirmary, saw my baby there
She was stretched out on a long, white table, so cold, so sweet, so fair

Let her go, let her go, God bless her, wherever she may be
She can look this wide world over, but she'll never find a sweet man like me

When I die bury me in straight laced shoes, I want a boxback coat and a Stetson hat
Put a twenty dollar gold piece on my watch chain, so the boys will know that I died standin' pat

Didn't it rain, children

Talk 'bout rain, oh, my Lord

Didn't it, didn't it, didn't it oh my Lord

Didn't it rain?

It rained 40 days, 40 nights without stopping

Noah was glad when the rain stopped dropping

Knock at the window, a knock at the door

Crying brother Noah can't you take on more

Noah cried no, you're full of sin

God got the key and you can't get in

Just listen how it's rainin'

Will you listen how it's rainin'

Just listen, how it's rainin'

All day, all night

All night, all day
Just listen how it's rainin'

Some moaning, some groaning

Some groaning, some praying

Well, a whole
 didn't it rain till dawn

Rain on my Lord

Didn't it, didn't it, oh

Oh, my Lord
 didn't it rain

Ooh, God sent a raven to spread the news

To hoist his wings and away he flew

And to the north, and to the south

And to the east, and to the west

All day, all night, all night, all day
Well just listen how it's rainin'

Oh, listen how it's rainin'

Some prayin', some cryin'

Some runnin', some moanin'

Will you listen how it's rainin'

Just listen how it's rainin'

Didn't it rain, children

Rain on my Lord

Didn't it, oh my Lord, didn't it rain

The jingle bells are jingling
The streets are white with snow
The happy crowds are mingling
But there's no one that I know
I'm sure that you'll forgive me
If I don't enthuse
I guess I've got the Christmas blues

I've done my window shopping
There's not a store I've missed
But what's the use of stopping
When there's no one on your list
You'll know the way I'm feeling
When you love and you lose
I guess I've got the Christmas blues

When somebody wants you
Somebody needs you
Christmas is a joy of joy
But friends when you're lonely
You'll find that it's only
A thing for little girls and little boys

May all your days be merry
Your seasons full of cheer
But 'til it's January
I'll just go and disappear
Oh Santa may have brought you some stars for your shoes
But Santa only brought me the blues
Those brightly packaged tinsel covered Christmas blues

slow down, slow down
let JB step on board
i just wanna ride your train
one time before you go

you’r ‘bout the sweetest little girl
i believe i ever seen
and if i had you by my side
it would mean so much to me

i been a hobo, i been a hobo
mind you, all of my life
don’t matter world i go
i’m never satisfied

slow down, slow down
let me step on board
i just wanna ride your train
one time before you go

Baby, please don't go, down to New Orleans

You know I love you so

Before I be your dog

I get you way'd out here, and let you walk alone

Turn your lamp down low

I beg you all night long, baby, please don't go

You brought me way down here

'bout to Rolling Forks, you treat me like a dog

Baby, please don't go, back the New Orleans

I beg you all night long

Before I be your dog

I get you way'd out here, and let you walk alone

You know your man down gone

To the country farm, with all the shackles on

23 novembro 2015

Baby here I stand before you
With my heart in my hand
I put it to you mama
Hoping that you'll understand
Oh, baby, mama, please don't dog me 'round
Yeah I would rather love you, baby
Than anyone else I know in town

This is my confession, mama
And it's sung by all your song
It proves that I'm in heaven, mama
When you hold me in your arms
Well, baby, can I have you for myself
Yeah, if I can't have you, baby
I don't want nobody else

Well, baby, don't you want a man like me
Well, baby, don't you want a man like me
Yeah, think about your future, baby
Forget about what you used to be
